Guest rosero202 Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Hi, I've been having problems with the Liquid's battery draining rapidly. I fully charged it and watched 30min video (brightness on normal) and sent some messages. I disconnected the charger before using the Liquid. In less than a minute I had gone from 100% to 95% and ended at 53% after 2 hours. the only usage where the video and sms, otherwise on standby. I tried fully discharge and this ''calibration'' thing yet the battery drains really fast. I'm using the latest LCR rom stock cpu speed never oc'd. I have used Miui Dario's collection of roms etc, it's been since a few weeks that this started. Swtiched battery from a different Acer liquid A1 but the problem keeps excisting. What could be going on? Could it be the base rom? I using the one recommended for the LCR ROM.
Guest jayziac Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Watching video is a huge drain on the battery no matter on what phone. A good way to see if there's anything abnormal going on is turn off all background data and just keep the cellphone signal on and idle the phone, it should drain about 1%/hour. If it's any faster then it's likely a bad app running the background. Try the 'powertutor' app to see exactly which component is draining it.
Guest rosero202 Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Ok i'll test out powertutor, though 30min ( tv episode like american dad is like 25min) I know multimedia sucks the battery dry faster but seriously 50% on an episode??? I've seen an entire movie on my way to work after this it lasted for 7 more standby hours and music back on the way home plus some browsing to kill time and still have about 25 to 30 % left on my battery. Not that I always watch movie but daily base is music then the working hours standby and again music plus browsing through 3g so the battery would last me 1day 1/2.

Which program do you use to watch films? Be sure that it's using hardware acceleration. Also used codecs could affect how much battery is used.
