Guest BlackCat^ Posted May 25, 2011 Report Share Posted May 25, 2011 (edited) Regarding Flash: I have done some digging and found the earlier CM7 ROMs for various devices had an identical Flash issue that we have in VegaComb (Audio plays but not Video). Their fix was rolling back to an older specific version of Flash and/or fixing permissions in Clockwork recovery. After trying several old versions of Flash and fixing permissions this hasnt worked for VegaComb. However, when running the permissions fix in Clockwork with VegaComb installed this doesnt take anywhere near as long as fixing permissions in CM7 so I guess this isnt working correctly with this ROM. So I'm wondering if playing with permissions in Root Explorer will dig up anything (only I'm not 100% sure where to dig). New versions of CM7 dont require a specific version of Flash so the developers must have got around this one somehow so surly this can be applied to VegaComb. I also get a symbol showing that there is coverage.....but....... I scrolled through all the settings but cannot find an option to enter APN or anything so can't configure it. Is that a "hidden feature" or did I not look well enough? Any help is welcome. Oh none, sorry didnt mean to imply there were I was just listing what is most imortant, the reasons I got a Vega in the first place so if they dont work Honeycomb isnt worth it for me Those are the bits that if one isnt right cause me to go back to Corvus. Sadly having Lila the fairy working for my daughter is higher on the list than Kindle...... On the subject of iPad/phone and flash, we had two guys in our internet team the other day who insisted they needed iPhones as their company phone because it offered them the richest internet browsing experience. I prefer Mobo Player, I was using VPlayer which I bought a license for but its playback was even worse, hadnt tried rock player. I will see how Mobo works on beta 1.5 and if its the same I will try rock player. Worked slightly better in 1.3 the lag was about every minute or two as opposed to every 10-20 seconds. If you have a copy of get_iplayer download one of the bbc programmes (Doctor Who or something should do) and you should be looking at a file with the same settings and general size as I was using. Since I always keep a copy of my last clockwork backup of Corvus, if the honeycomb rom isnt working for something I just flash back to it and they always play fine. Yea, Corvus has HW rendering for Videos etc, we're still on software in VegaComb right now, which is why the gallery video player won't work for most things. That's the only thing holding me back. Also I did notice on 1.3 and 1.4 when I booted up the Vega the Launcher would immediately force close. But for me flash is important as i subscribe and watch a lot of youtube channels and videos and as much as i want to reload vegacomb again as i just love the look and feel of it i will just have to be strong and hang on that little bit longer while you hard working and clever chaps at vegacomb hq overcome the last few hurdles. But i am not playing any HD files (i am using the codec file for ARM v7VFP3). - Just installed ACV and can read a Comic book (CBR file). Perfect Viewer works also very nice for Comic books. - Using Aldiko to read books - Lila i do not know... From looking at the market i would guess my daughter will never give my tablet back Oeps... Just tried to play one of my home videos (mpeg2 pal DVD quality) and looks like it is played in slomo.... Guess i was using 1.3 when the last time i used Mobo Player.
