Uninstall apps etc. Have you tried that SD Card read speed tweak: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1010807 Less widgets

Guest N3M35I5 Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Hmm, have you rebooted a few times so the Dalvik Cache is fully built? Yes, its been slow since iv gone from cm7 stable. Iv overclocked and upgraded vm heap size to 42 but its slow as hell. Typing this now and the keyboard animation is around 15 behind. I also have plenty of ram free too

Guest Swimmerboy Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 I'd try a full wipe, install latest nightly, change stock launcher for Launcher Pro, install only the apps you want/need and make sure you don't run any auto-process-killer or memory-free-er app.
Guest shmizan Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 (edited) make sure you don't run any auto-process-killer or memory-free-er app. why? Edited May 10, 2011 by shmizan
Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 dont put apps in your sd if you have any... use a task killer *controversial, I know* Set governor to perfomance and set min clock speed up vm heap to 64 :) Uninstall all the cm stuff... Maybe help a bit O.o
Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 why? Because it itself must run in the background to kill the other apps  Well, thanks to android and broadcast receivers you actually shouldn't have too... depends on how the apps are written...

Maybe help a bit O.o  i have done all that apart from the SD. All my apps are on SD, i have a fast card. angry birds runs fine from sd just a tiny bit laggy when my birds hit but thats to be expected as running from sd. But the 2 things that are slow that annoy the s*** out of me is my browser and my contact list, there not running from SD and are laggy. Any ideas?

Cm7 Has slower menus than froyo but allows better gaming... And you can increase the SD card cache size (don't ask for a link, I ain't got a clue, search this forum ) - it does make some things significantly faster

Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 Hmmm very interesting. I'll look into that Sorry if hat was at all misleading, it only effects when loading content, eg, apps, from the SD card. It was xda do I think a Google of xda SD card fix is the way forward. I have never touched partition sizes except possibly the gen2 tpt so I am unsure if increaseing the size of the cache partition effects speed.

The older version was better, you could manually enter the value. use blade buddy instead. But remember to leave the "m" at the end of your number)
