Guest Jekle Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 (edited) Hi, I'm trying to debrand the SoftBank B23 Rom and I've done alot BUT... I need to remove the SoftBank branding on the boot.img, I did hear a mention that opening it up and It's got something to do with the ramdisk (initrd.img) I sucessfully extracted the boot.img with abootimg (Ubuntu 11.04) But how do I open the ramdisk and restore the Green Android Robot? (through the whole boot process expect when you the android words come up) Thanks Very Much appriciated When I extract it I get zImage, config and initrd.img (ramdisk) Edited May 10, 2011 by Jekle

Split the boot.img, then extract the ramdisk. In the attached shot, you can see the logo.bmp. This is the file you replace and then repack. You may find this useful (amongst others) http://android-dls.com/wiki/index.php?titl...ack_Boot_Images I've attached the green robot image if you want it. Note that if you use your own, be careful on size and format!logo.bmp Edited May 10, 2011 by Len Ash
