Safe to Format SD card?

Hi

Just done a clean install of r8 but have found that I have collected a fair bit of junk on the SD card over the last few weeks. Is it safe to format the card, as in will I lose anything that the rom needs? If it is safe to format whats the best way of doing it? I have CWR installed.

Safe. Use CWR. Android will re-create what it needs next boot.

Do you know what link2sd or apps2sd are or want to use them? Asking because if so, you need to understand partitioning and EXTFS.

Dont use them at the moment but i suppose i will as i start to lose storage.
