Guest aceofwands1 Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 Please can anyone help me. I have purposely bought an Orange San Francisco, so I can unlock it and use it with a newly bought T-Mobile SIM. I have read through all the FAQs etc and keep having this problem. When I insert the new SIM and boot up the phone it asks me for the SIM pin code. I have set this myself so I know exactly what is. Except the San Francisco won't accept it. It gives me five attempts, then locks up on me. I have tried putting extra tape on the back of the card to raise the contact, but this doesn't work. The SIM works perfectly on my other phone, a T-mobile Pulse. I can't even get to first base! Regards aceofwands1 [email protected]
Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 There is an online calculator which forms this code. I know you say you set it yourself, are you talking about Tue pin lock? , but its worth a try using the code this tool gives you, it worked for me. Flashing a custom rom bypasses the similar network check, allowing any similar to be used, so your phone is essentially unlocked.

Can you give me the address of the online calculator - I just tried one which gave back an 8 digit code, which is no good. Where does one get a custom rom from? - as in, flashing a custom rom aceofwands1
