Hi,

I have read on this forum that some models of POV Mobii tegra have a purpose made slot for a sim card (curved access cover, and sim card sign printed on back), this is the case with my POV Mobii, my question is that i am currently using the stock 1.10 firmware, i dont seem to have the mobile network menu in `settings` available??

so do i need a certain firmware to activate 3G if i was lucky enough to have all the components already inside??

or would the 3G option automatically be there if my POV was 3g ready

i havent opened the back and dont really want to do that yet?

any info appreciated

Not sure, as I do not have a pov Mobii. I saw in other posts that the SIM card sign just says that you have a SIM card reader in your tablet. You still need to add the 3G modem to it. There seem to be 2 options, Ericsson and Huawei. Search the threads here and you will find solutions. Some people upgraded their pov Mobii successfully.

I confirm it. I installed successfully an Ericsson F3307 3G card inside anc it works very well.

I recommend to use MiFi module with your POV for three reasons:

1. You will be able to use it with any other device or even few devices at once.

2. It has its own battery so it will not drain battery from your tablet and will allow you for longer use.

3. 3G option cost too much for a device you probably replace one day.

Few more reasons:

- its small and easy to carry

- your tablet will weight few grams less

I Have a POV too. Bought a $50 Ericsson card from ebuy and instaled. 3G works fine now.

I looked at the 3g mifi dongles and yes they do seem a better option, im considering this as i have a laptop too.

is it just the 4 corner screws and then lift the back off to fit this 3g module in the pov, or is the back cover tricky??

i emailed POV and this is what tere support sent me:

`Dear Sir,

If you have the model with 3g there should be an option in the menu (wireless and networking) where you can enable it.

If this option is not present there is no 3g module installed.

If there is a sim card symbol present on the lid of your device, the unit is 3g prepared. The simcard reader and antenna’s are then already installed.

You then have to purchase a 3g module (HUAWEI EM770W is compatible) and install it in the device.

Kind Regards,

Point of View

I am really satisfied with my MiFi. If my broadband internet connection fail for some reason I still have access to Internet for all my devices.
