ClockworkModRecovery confusion

There seems to be various comments about which is the latest ClockworkMod Recovery that can be used on Gen1. Some say 3.0.1.4 & some say 3.0.2.4 (though others have reported issues). Then today I read this (edited) post:

Help please , my phone has super accsess , the phone is running a version of 2.2 for some time (around 7 months), its a gen 1 phone oled , very early batch uk orange model....

i cannot get into recovery mode....but i could up untill today when i decided to do some updating !!!"

So, my question is which is the latest CMR that is known to work on Gen1 phones?? :unsure:

You don't really need to update past 3.0.1.4, if your GEN1, on another thread someone mentioned installing 3.0.2.8-GEN1 from Sebastians list of zte recoverys, rom manager is the GEN2 versions.
