hi all again i have finally managed to change the rom got up working tried to change the usb status to host instead of slave and now my vega is stuck in booting screen with nothing else happening could someone please help i have tried searching for answers and am banging my head after the endless postibg running searching many thanks

What ROM did you put on? If you used the USB Host mode app, that only works with a Rom with the 1.08 kernel and will hang on the booting screen if used with anything else. The only way out of that is to recover to stock 1.09 using the instructions on www.myadventvega.co.uk

I also have this problem with ROMs other than Paul's MoDaCo ROM like Corvus, Ganbaro, etc. so I just stuck with the MoDaCo ROM.

There's a fix on my website (in my sig).

It will fix this issue on r8 without having to wipe all of your data.

No your not. If you read the help for each of the ROMs, they have a method for host mode, it's just different using the app, which you won't have anyway if you install one of those ROMs.

From Corvus ROM for example:

For enter usb host mode:

Press power button, once display get power (you will see the diference), press back button and hold until finish booting.

Do you know causes the vega to get stuck on the booting screen?

All I had done was enable USB host mode. Vega rebooted fine. I then plugged in my 3g dongle and attempted to set it up but it wouldnt show any networks. So I decided to try a power off and back on so unplugged the dongle and powered off. When the tablet was powered back on it was stuck on the booting screen.

I was on Modaco R8 rom and used the usb mode utility included with R8 to switch the mode.
