That's right Netflix is working on the Streak's beautiful 5" screen. The following APK from XDA works :

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...p;postcount=138

The videos stream, however there's a slight problem I'm hoping somebody here can help fix : All the videos play faster than 1x, that is - it looks and sounds like you're watching everything in fast forward mode (on a VCR, if any of you kids know what that is)

Steve, Fards? Help?

these build.prop mods worked

ro.product.model=HTC Vision

ro.product.manufacturer=HTC

I changed those values but I'm still getting a playback rate that's too fast.

Just edited my build.prop with those mods - crossing my fingers.

IT WORKS!!!!! I powered off my Streak and when I re-started it, I kicked off Netflix and the audio was the right speed.

@Kohawk : Could you please upload your build.prop file for me?

Will this work on a stock rom? And can you do it without messing with the ADB stuff? :unsure:

If you've got root access then yes

Also you don't have to use ADB, you can use a file manager (with root permissions) like "root explorer" (paid) or "super manager" (free)

I have root explorer but I still couldn't get it to work. I just make the changes and then just save and exit?

It will only play for about one second before stopping the video. I'm not sure why it's not working (I'm on 345).

Same here. Acts like it's going to play, brings up the screen in landscape with the slider along the bottom, then immediately take me back. Tried adjusting:

ro.product.model, brand and rebooting. Even tried ro.product.name, device to no avail. I'm on 351 rooted.

If it works on Steve's 1.9 that might be reason enough for me to move over.

Yeah, doesn't look like anyone on a stock Rom has it working yet.

Here's a link to a Netflix build with the device-checker disabled:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13730649

It works fine on my DJ Steve 1.9 Streak. I haven't tried it on a stock load.

Does not work with stock 2.2.2 tried the device checker disabled version and edited build prop, the app loads but when the video is about to stream it goes back to the listings.

Did you have to modify the build prop? or just load the apk?

Why would the edit change the video speed?

I loaded the first link from xda - but it plays back at chipmunk speed. it loads and logins.

I am on 1.9 as well..

Netflix working on Dell Streak Stock 2.2 with no modification needed:

Link to androidpolice.com story below:

http://bit.ly/nyqc7f

Netflix 1.3.0 APK downloaded to both a Dell Streak 5 Android 2.2.2 (updated with QDL tool) and Stock Streak 5 Android 2.2, works on both phones, no issue with double speed.

Volume seems a bit low but it does work...

I'm curious if this Build.prop mod will effect anything else on the phone? Does this now mean the app market thinks I'm using an HTC Vision?
