Guest P.K Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 (edited) Hi, I havnt been to this site for a good few weeks and Im sorry if this topic has been covered before but I have been experiencing constant call disconnection issues with my San Fransisco (early OLED model). I am using the Swedish Spring 2.2 rom. It works great but during almost every call, within a space of 5 minutes, my calls disconnect. I dont think its a touch screen issue as Im deliberately holding my phone well away from my face. When a call cuts out I look at the screen and the call options are all still there including disconnect so it deffinitely not my face touching the screen. These options then fade as if the call has been disconnected by the other party, but its deffinitely on my side as it happens on all of my calls. I had the same problem with earlier 2.2 roms. It seems like a 2.2 issue in general as I havnt experienced the problem on the stock 2.1 rom. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? If this has been covered in another thread, please direct me to it! Ive tried searching the forums for this problem but Ive found nothing. Many thanks. Edited May 16, 2011 by P.K

Also running Swedish Spring, but TFT model.
Guest Psyloid Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 I'm having the same problem. Also running Swedish Spring, but TFT model. I haven't noticed the issue (i'm on SS5), but i hate calling, so i doubt i have made a call that long ...
Guest XpressAndy Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 I have the same issue on my TFT. I'm running SS RLS - 5. If call duration is longer it disconnects. In fact sometimes my phone reboots while dialing a call!
Guest Sele2010 Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Had the same issue back on JJ, moved to CM7 and back to SS and haven't had it since. I thought it was something to do with the radio switching between cell towers, and that wiping fixed it. Have you tried a wipe?
Guest spudgunGB Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 I have the what I think is the same issue and got to the bottom of it of sorts. Mine would keep cutting out during calls (swedish spring rom) and I found if I turned to mobile internet off I no longer have the problem. It could be luck bu I have had no issues now for a week. Fingers crossed it might help you guys out as well.
Guest P.K Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 I am just bumping this topic again in case some one else has any suggestions. I had an early 2.2 build from last year that was very rusty around the edges and I sometimes 30 - 40 minutes into a call I'd be disconnected. That was never much of a problem however with Swedish Spring, I rarely make it past 5 minutes so that's almost every call. Unless Im mistaken its mainly calls received as opposed to made and it occurs even when Im in the same room. I have have very good 3G reception where I am so I dont think its down to cell towers swtiching. Until we've got to the bottom of this problem, can I ask anyone to suggest a more stable 2.2 Rom?
Guest scotchmizzed Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 Happens to me also,, get varying times sometimes 5mins others a bit longer and yes, i'm swedish spring SS5 with ahb overclocked download. Has just started so i thought it was just me and might be my phone so thank god i found this thread. Would love to know also.
Guest bonzo_ivan Posted May 17, 2011 Report Posted May 17, 2011 Hello everybody! i have the same problem here! i whant to try this.. i hope it last chance =))
Guest P.K Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 Hi All, I think I may have found a solution. As others have suggested, it seems to be the data connection that interferes with the calls. Ive got the widget showing data/sync/GPS displayed on my phone thats built into the swedish Spring rom. Ive deactivated everything. So when I receive/make a call the data is already deactivated. Ive taken a few calls this week and none have disconnected. Im on 3 Mobile so its not a question of 2G or 3G, im permanently on 3G. It seems to be the HSDPA data connection alone. Obviously to quickly check the push emails, you simply activate the sync/data and any emails you have flood in, then you just deactivate it again when you're done. Another amazing benefit is that the battery life rockets! I went out on a trek yesterday with the phone on 100% charge leaving the data connection off and leaving the phone in sleep mode (still able to receive calls). 6 hours later I checked the phone and the battery widget remained at 100%. Im sure it lost some power during the day but it was a long way from being drained out. Im not ableto do a full battery drain test. Right now, I couldnt be happier with this rom unless I just got very lucky this week with my usage! Can we get a few others to try out this trick and report back if theyre finding the same results and more importantly whether we've managed to crack the call disconnetion problem???!

Well it does work. But, whats the use of an android phone if I keep data connections disabled? I won't be getting GTalk, Twitter, facebook, GMail notifications! Is it possible for developers to implement a change that disables data connections during calls?
Guest P.K Posted June 19, 2011 Report Posted June 19, 2011 Well it does work. But, whats the use of an android phone if I keep data connections disabled? I won't be getting GTalk, Twitter, facebook, GMail notifications! Is it possible for developers to implement a change that disables data connections during calls? I have had not a single disconnected call this whole month since switiching off the data. I just miss out on the instant push emails. I switch on the dataoccasionally through the day to get new emails pushed through or when im ready to go online. The battery life is also vastly improved. I actually prefer it this way. So until there is a proper fix, this seems the only option short of rolling back to 2.1.
