Guest cjp666 Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 I have installed CM7 using the TPT method and my phone is now Gen2; what would I need to do to install SSRLS5. Can I just install using ROM Manager leaving the partition sizes as they are? Thanks in advance Chris.
Guest dibbles Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 (edited) I seem to be posting this a lot  Read from post # 88 and onwards for the last three pages. You will then be more aware of the potential consequences of moving to a 2.2 ROM if you have a small cache size... http://android.modaco.com/content-page/338...2-only/page/80/ you will then also be informed on how to change that to something more suitable. You will note that I changed to... 20mb cache 140mb system 280mb data if I was doing it again I would now change to... 40mb cache 150mb system 250mb data Edited May 13, 2011 by dibbles

Swedish Spring RLS5 handles a 2mb cache partition perfectly fine, so for that ROM specifically, you don't have to change anything compared to the CM7 layout.
Guest otsox Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 (edited) I'm having the same situation also, but I have problems installing SS5. I have a Finnish Blade Gen1 -> TPT CM7 Gen2. I flashed SS5 with clockwork 3.0.1.x which I had at first, and the phone BRICKED in the Android logo. I tried with clockwork 3.0.2.7 too, but no luck. Luckily I had the CM7 tpt image on my sd card, so I could revive it. Have to study more what's the problem. But what i was coming to say in this thread, keep an TPT image ready! EDIT: Yes, I did wipe. EDIT2: IT BOOTED! Earlier I installed it using the Rom Manager CM7 had, which did not work. I installed SS5 straight thru clockwork, and AFTER install i wiped cache and data. Edited May 14, 2011 by otsox
Guest mk89 Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 I did Gen1 to Gen2 TPT Then flashed SS RLS5 with ClockworkMod Recovery and all was ok  So now i have 2mb cache, 138 mb system, 315mb data with SS RLS5.
Guest cjp666 Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Thanks to everyone who replied I will have a think about if I want to move away from CM7 I love CM7 but there are a few issues that concern me and maybe SSRLS5 might be another option

CM7 is very fast, but the battery life is horrible, about 12-18 hours before the need to recharge.
