Guest alwyn Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 I was wondering if there was a one step process through which I could restore all the apps installed in a previous nightly to a newly installed one in 1 step. Can this be done by doing an advanced restore of the nandroid backup ? I use titanium backup but find it too much of a hassle to seperately restore apps everytime I install a newer version. What I'am essentially looking for is something that will restore a backup of all the apps with data(Games and the like) in a couple of clicks whilst retaining all the features of the newer version. Sorry if this has been replied to before, I find the posts a bit vague and would like to know the most convenient method to do so. Cheers in advance.
Guest Amphoras Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 The pro version of Titanium lets you restore all your apps with one click, not sure if you have that or not. Not used the advanced restore from clockwork, you might be able to do it from there too, but I don't know for sure.

You can batch restore via Titanium Backup but if you can it to be quicker you can buy the license key which does it without having to click install each time. Try MyBackup too.

I did allow superuser access to the app, installed busybox as requested as well.
Guest rwalton159 Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 Appmonster works for me. You can back everything up to your SD card then restore easily.
Guest ms20 Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 (edited) I used an advanced nandroid backup restoring /data/ after I went to gen2(cm stable to the next nightly) and I haven't had any problems. I don't know if anything could go wrong but it's worth a try to save restoring apps for an hour. If your having problems with titanium try clicking problems at the bottom of the page to make sure you have a compatible version or try clearing data in settings>applications>manage applications Edited May 14, 2011 by ms20

It worked. For anyone in a similar situation to mine, I'll briefly outline how I did it. First I performed a full nandroid backup of the ROM I was on, this can be done through ROM manager or by going to clockwork recovery by pressing the volume down button when starting up. Second, I installed the new ROM. Once it finishes installing load up Clockwork recovery again. Finally, Go to Restore - Advanced Restore, select the right backup file, and restore /data/ Cheers for all the suggestions guys, appreciate the help ! :-) Edited May 14, 2011 by alwyn
