PLEASE ASSIST Streak 5 ROM 347 recovery

Can someone explain to me what is the correct way to restore back to Offcial 347 Rom? I have spent 20 hrs over the past 3 days trying to decipher all tutorials across multiple sites without a shred of success. I cannot figure out what I am missing. I am so frustrated I have no idea where to begin. I successfully rooted right out of the box and in a silly mistake at 3 am deleted the Dell stage. From this point it has been a nightmare. I was able to get the 351 ROM on but its miserable and causes the lights on the home key area to blink every 7 seconds. I cant beleive I cannot follow these instructions. I cannot get fastboot devices to list devices. I have tried adb devices, fastboot devices, changed drivers, streakmod, Android SDK, etc. Is there some simple directions out there?

Anything you all could share would be more than appreciated.

Yes, 64 bit Windows seems to be notorious for causing these kinds of problems!

Try to borrow another laptop with 32 bits on it, and install again.

Yes, 64 bit Windows seems to be notorious for causing these kinds of problems!

Try to borrow another laptop with 32 bits on it, and install again.

On Win 7 x86, the exact same results are produced. I do not have the Android SDK installed like the x64.

1) Does this %^%#^ thing need to be rooted first?

2) What does the 00 or 02 refer to?

3) Why can I get every other .PKG except for 347?

This is nuts. How can an open source OS be more difficult than my iPhone? Why is 347 such an issue? Why won't fastboot or ADB see the device? OMG Windows does? Why can't both files be added to the SD card and "updated". Can you get the 347 in a .PKG? Instead of this ZIP... Every post I read there are a ton of people who are in the same boat and the other talk like its a cool breeze.

I have not followed this one but thats as soon as my A$$ gets up.

1) Yes, you NEED to root it first, or install it through Clockworkmod.

2) 34700 refers to the used baseband, in your case standard US.

3) Because 347.zip isn't a regular update, or just some additional program!

PLEASE, first read the .pdf file! EVERY help you need is in it, and it also tells you EXACTLY what to do and what not to do.

One very important thing is: do NOT unzip the 347.zip file, because it is NOT a regular zip!!! Just put it onto your SDcard and install through Clockworkmod.

Well thank you for responding earlier. I can't spend another 30 hours on this. Now all this unit does is endless reboot. Can get into clockworkmod but it wont run any zip or pkg. I don't know what files go where or why the instructions don't work no matter what i do. Changing to another machine. This really is dissapointing from my pov. This is now more anger than anything. I can get my iPhone out of anything but my new streak is a paper weight. You can read all you want about rebuilding a chevy 350 but its a different thing when you're standing there with someone who has done it before. I'll make it a point to be more mindful of my mistakes but again I really cant get over how much of a mess this is.

Well it seems that there was a small problem. I found that when I checked the .BAT file in Fastboot it was inconsistant with what I changed the name to.

It says to "Open up the new streak folder and find the fastboot application for your operating system and rename it to fastboot (leave the .exe file extension as it is)".

I didn't add the "-WINDOWS" after fastboot, = FASTBOOT-WINDOWS.exe

(CREDIT=TECHNEUT) Also 7 x64 is not the OS to use. Verified working on 7 x86. Some bugs but thats me...
