Failed root attempt with superboot

So I tried rooting my 2.2.2 version streak, but it failed. It booted to the dell screen and hung there forever. So realizing I just flashed a boot image I found the 2.2.2 boot image and reflashed it. Now it just goes to the boot screen, then reboots. I still have access to fastboot and the recovery image, I just can't get anything on the streak to get it to boot up. I tried a factory reset, then an update form Update.pkg, but an assertion failed and it won't update. Any ideas on where to go from here?
