Guest lpinho Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 Hi there, there's an handy application called My Phone Explorer from http://www.fjsoft.at/, that is very useful to me. I like to send text messages and manage the contacts without using the blade interface (it's just quicker for me), but I would like to do this using the bluetooth interface (avoid using the usb cable). Following some instructions in the forum, (it's in german, so I followed the pictures), but they seem to map a serial port between the mobile and the pc. Unfortunately when I try to map a serial port with my ZTE Blade I get an error stating that the device does not have a serial port service running. Is it possible to create that service or it's an hardware limitation? Thanks, Luis Pinho
Guest Pully Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 (edited) It can work via WiFi iirc (just tested it and it works fine via wifi but I cannot test BT ) Edited May 16, 2011 by Pully
Guest mauritzius Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 In case you followed this guide, it (basically) says to unpair computer and mobile phone, install and start the client app on the android phone and make the phone discoverable. Then pair it again (initiated by the PC) and a serial port should be installed. However, not all Android-powered phones are supported. If you need an exacter translation, let me know and I'll do my best.
Guest Magnets Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 (edited) I've not had any luck with bluetooth/pc connections, my PC doesn't show any services on the blade (no OBEX/serial) and will just make the toshiba software hang. I've found wifi or USB the only methods that work for MPE. edit: aha! doing as mauritzius said worked for me. Edited May 16, 2011 by Magnets
Guest theShire Posted May 16, 2011 Report Posted May 16, 2011 I use mpe daily via Bluetooth. When viewing the available services on the blade using XPs Bluetooth manager it results in none being shown. when the mpe client is running then a serial port profile is available on the device and can be mapped to a Bluetooth com port. I rarely have any issues other then d odd connection drop out, but then again I use it in work where we use various Bluetooth and wireless devices.
