My Daughters San Fran has somehow got a cracked LCD. Started with the topr of the screen going purple, then pink then blue.

Oddly the digitizer is intact. I've always seen that go first or as well as the LCD.

Anyone know how to source a replacement LCD?

NOTE: This IS the LCD (display) NOT the digitizer (touchscreen).

I know the phones are cheap but it would be a shame to have to replace an otherwise perfectly functioning phone for the sake of a £10 component. I've replace many screens/LCD in my time and having looked at the teardown vids there's nothing there to concern me that I couldn't do the same with this.

Trust me if you could get hold of one it gunna be alot more than £10, this happened to me got to repairmob.com and they replaced the LCD and the Digitiser for me if your phone is cover by warrenty you just have to pay £17 shipping and handling fee

Thanks for this.

I'd be happy to pay £17 for someone else to do it especially as it's under warranty.

Oh and the £10 came from the average i'd expect to pay for an iPhone 3/3g/3gs LCD. (got one for £7.50 once but that was a fluke)

But I suppose a lot of that is driver out by economies of scale.

Cheers

Mike
