Gingerbread Keyboard issue?

Hi Guys

1st post here! Keep up the good work Paul!

I baked a rom including both the LG keyboard and the Gingerbread keyboard. Please correct me if I am wrong, but the LG keyboard does not seem to have the ability of a user dictionary. For this I prefer the Gingerbread keyboard, as well as the long tap numbers... but... I seem to have one issue with the Gingerbread keyboard.

Using the LG keyboard, to scroll in text (like with the Hero trackball) you simply tap the relevant side of the phone to move the cursor left or right. This functionality does not work properly with the Gingerbread keyboard. I say properly because it behaves as follows. Gingerbread KB in use, try to tap the phone and the cursor does not move - switch to LG keyboard, try again and the cursor moves - switch back to Gingerbread keyboard and try again and the cursor does move with taps, however the functionality disappears once the app using text input has been shut and reopened again.

Anyone else have this problem?

I didn't realise that gesture ever worked for the gingerbread keyboard!

Confirmed this behavior in messages and in browser, but interestingly, does not do it in googletalk...

Yup, I've noticed this too and actually even mentioned in the kitchen thread a while back. :|
