£20 a month for a zillion years ... no seriously, if its for three years you end up paying £720 for your phone ...

A 3 year contract?!!

But that would make a great 2year deal

I think it's 2 years. It is tempting.

£20 x 24 = £480

It costs £329 on Play.com at the moment, but personally I don't think it's worth it.

Galaxy S II seems to be all the hype so it'll most likely get better roms than the Optimus 2X will ever have.

Cyanogenmod are already supporting the Optimus 2x and G2x with nightly roms

£20 a month works out well with the texts and minutes

check cyanogenmod for supported devices:

http://www.cyanogenmod.com/devices

Optimus 2x was added with cyanogemod 7.1

the only Samsung device on the other hand: http://www.cyanogenmod.com/devices/samsung-galaxy-s

Here's a link:

Android 2.2 but apart from that I might go for it.

Thats exactly the deal i`ve gone for, it also gives you 4 free months over the 2 year period. Since im already paying £10 a month for giggaff im basically looking at it as £10 a month for the phone minus £80 for the free months for a phone that current sells for about £350.

So

£20 x 24 = £480

aint really valid, should be 10 X 24 = £240-£80 = £160

So yeah a bargain

You have to watch "redemption" offers.. Sometimes its best to completely ignore them and leave it as a welcome surprise if they actually honour it

Still a good deal without

I guess the outcome price depends on how often you use the phone for calls/sms/data, I tend to get called rather than call people so it's not a deal for me.

Guess the S2 will have to wait for a US release for it to see CyanogenMod, but I have a feeling it'll get a larger influx of other roms that aren't CM (not everyone likes it) when it does come out there.

I spend 20 quid every 6 months for internet & a tenner every 2 months or so on calls. It's a good deal but I'm finding it hard to justify when the blade does pretty much everything I want. If I sold my blade on it might just be worth it...

It does have good specs.

O2 seem to have botched the Galaxy S II orders up though, I think they oversold thus there will be delays for some people.

That is a really good price, thinking of cancelling my contract early and getting a better phone. Has anyone used the Desire S. Would it still be worth getting if not dual core?

I hear there are alot of issues with this phone, even though £20 a month for a dual core phone is a great price.

phone that expensive is a no go area for me.

after smashing the screen of my old xperia while simply and soberly leaning in to play a pool shot i vowed to never again get something worth hundreds and hundreds of pounds thats just plopped in a trouser pocket.

heavy cases make them too bulky.

insurance claims are a pain and add to premium.

i love my san fran cause i can take it everywhere - up a mountain, out clubbing, to fesitvals. if it breaks i'll buy another one.

Went for the same deal, there's quite a difference. Dual core & larger screen was too much of a temptation, it was the Blade that led me down this path.
