Stuck in boot loop after deleting partition

I was running out of space on my SD card and realised that I had an old partition that I made when I was on 2.1 for A2SD...When I moved to Modaco Froyo R12, I kept the old partition...

So today I deleted the old partition (without making a backup...) and rebooted the phone and now its stuck in a boot loop...I tried deleting the cache but still have the same problem...

I dont want to lose all the data on my phone (apps etc)

Is there anyway to get it working again without a hard reset/reflash?

What happens if you take the card out when battery is out and then reboot with it out?

I tried that as well...same thing happens...

Any other ideas?

Nope, doesn't sound good. Does it at least go into clockwork?

If you flash with the same rom you are using it wouldn't it leave your stuff mostly alone?

Seem to remember going from ss4 to ss5 and it leaving everything largely intact.

I could try that...

I've been wanting to move to CM7 for a little while now but not had time to get round to it...I guess now my chance...
