I have exactly the same problem. I thought I followed the instructions and I certainly got the green messages about image installation, but obviously something went wrong.

If you can't get your phone to boot at all you will have to use a card reader/writer to transfer files. Sometimes you can pick one up in a Pound shop, otherwise try somewhere like Maplin. You need to check it either takes Micro-SD sized cards or comes with a card caddy that takes them. Other than that I'd suggest you go for the cheapest they have.

If you're unable to boot recovery and unable to use Fastboot, you should still be able to install ClockworkMod recovery by TPT. Take a ClockworkMod img file, check its MD5 to ensure it's not corrupted, and rename it recovery.img then place it on the SD card in a folder called "image" which is otherwise empty. It doesn't hurt to check MD5 again once it's on the card. Don't forget to get your operating system to safely release the card, don't just yank it out.

Then when you start the phone in TPT mode (Menu Vol+ On or just Vol+ On depending on the build of your phone) it will install that image in its recovery partition. You should then be able to reboot into recovery.

Once you have ClockworkMod installed you will be able to install ROMs, clear cache, factory reset, etc, and even set up more TPTs if you like.

Needless to say rather than just go for a ClockworkMod install you could just download a full TPT install of a suitable firmware suite.

AN AFTERTHOUGHT: Have you tried rerunning the original TPT? Presumably the files are all still on the card so if it had a glitch you can just try it again as a last resort before going to find a card reader/writer.

My Blade is Gen1. I have been running converted Gen2 ROMS but havent modified the phone at all.

I can restart the TPT flash sequence as often as I like just by pushing Vol+ and it goes through the same procedure of green writing each time. And then I get the flashing green man.

I am following the instructions in this thread and installing a file called OUK_P729BV1.0.0B10.zip

I think this is the correct procedure to be following, but for all I know it could be completely wrong. The explanations arent very clear at all.

All I want to do is get the phone as near as possible back to a stock Orange ROM, for return under warranty.

Thanks for suggestions.

Solved it myself.

There are two zip files in that thread: one in the first post which doesnt work, and another in the 2nd post which does work.

I used this technique to get the phone back to recovery mode.

I now have a working Orange stock ROM: all set for return under warranty.

Sounds like you are in exactly the same position that I was.

Follow the TPT procedure in the thread I linked to. Use the Gen1 restore files.

That should give you clockwork recovery back.

Then do the other TPT procedure using the files in the 2nd post zip, not the first. That should give you a (more or less) stock Orange phone.

Worked fine for me; hope it will for you.
