Guest slightee Posted May 17, 2011 Report Posted May 17, 2011 Currently running the swedish version of the froyo on the blade. Is it worth installing Android 2.3? If so, is there a step by step instruction manual. I found the instruction manual on orangesanfrancisco.co.uk for froyo, very useful and user friendly. Thanks for your help.

I ran 2.3 for a while (upto build 39 I think as I've kept my device as gen1) and it was generally ok but have gone back to 2.2 (SS5) as it's more stable and complete. If you want cutting edge but not quite working/complete then give 2.3 a try, otherwise stick with SS for now.

Alot had changed since N39 and GEN1 versions, the current Nightlys are stable, with some bugs, if you want perfection with less performance and customization then stick with SS. check out the wiki for the latest bugs and if they'll affect you: http://wiki.modaco.com/index.php/ZTE_Blade_CyanogenMod to install you gotta convert to GEN2 though which is extremely easy. Guest hugobosslives Posted May 17, 2011 Report Posted May 17, 2011 installing 2.3 is just like installing any froyo rom. so same procedure, wipe everything, then install the rom (all from the clockwork) tho please note: nightly 39 (n39) and before are for gen1. nightly 40 (n40) and after are for gen2. ask 'mr pigfish' (search the market) if your unsure which gen you are. and if you wana upgrade to gen2. use wbaws tpt method (its pinned in the "roms and customisation" sub forum). if you have any other questions. ask on the apporiate threads (i.e the cm7 thread if its about cm7, or wbaw's thread if its about going gen2 etc) and don't start threads unless you've searched and are sure no thread is already open with your problem/question.
Guest mrflibbles Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 What is GPS like on 7.0.3? It's pretty terrible on my SS5, locking can take many minutes (even with 9 satellites) if ever!

I'm running CM7 N73 and the GPS locks very quick. There have been problems with reboots and the GPS but I haven't had the problem since N73 so I hope it's sorted
