Guest FeareX Posted May 17, 2011 Report Posted May 17, 2011 Hi all, I just received a new Acer Liquid E last week. I want some information about the custom ROM's wich I can't find in the topics. I'm firmilliar with custom ROM's on the HTC Touch Pro 2, wich is a Windows Mobile device. I am new to android and i always loved the custom ROM's on the TP2 so i figured why not try it on my Liquid E  My questions are: - Are all ROM's on the Liquid forum compatible with the Liquid E version? ( i was looking at the LeoGingerBread and the MIUI ROM's) - I managed to flas a GEN1 ROM to my CUS2 device. Will i have any problems with flashing ROM's since i have the CUS2 version Liquid E? - And my last question, is the Malez recovery compatible with all types of Liquid's? A friend of mine said that i have to look out wich ROM i flash, he had the Liquid (256MB RAM) and said that allot of Liquid E users bricked there device by not being carefull enough. Because of this i first ask for help here :) If someone has any recomendations or tips for me, I would really like to hear it! I would much appreciate this. Thx in advance! Grtz FeareX (sorry for my bad English)
Guest Lens_flare Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 All custom roms [Malez recovery too] are compatible with liquid E besides of SPC_PASS official bins(which have unlocked for liquid 256m). So you can flash GEn1 bin Liquid E(official froyo for example).
Guest FeareX Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 Thx for you quick answer! I will root my device as soon as i have the time for it
Guest Auxx Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 The only ROMs you should never flash are operator locked ones like for Fido - they brick devices since they are operator locked.
Guest FeareX Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 Thx for the tip. I flashed the latest MIUI version today, I really like it sofar!
Guest FeareX Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 What a day! From official frodo to a rooted Liquid E running android 2.3.4 MIUI @960Mhz! Works like a charm!
