Hi All

got my new vega today, jumped on the web with a view to loading a custom rom set but have been going round in circles for the past 4 hours and now really at wits end and not sure where to go next.

I downloaded this verison of the s/w:

•r8 (default kitchen options below) - DOWNLOAD (ROMraid Load Balancing) - MD5: c7c86fb9d5929c012d7d3ba87da0a872

I then got the usb drivers from myadventvega.co.uk

I updated the drivers with those I got from the above site and can now see the APX icon under device manager. However this is as far as I can get.

I have tried to run the install-windows batch file by running it as administrator but it just flashed up very quickly on the screen and disappears, likewise with the adb-windows application.

I am running Windows 7, not sure if that helps.

Can anybody suggest where I am going wrong, and what I need to do next? I put my hands up and admit to being a total noob at this so apologies if any of the questions have already been asked or are really basic.

Thanks for any assitance.

Welcome.

Please learn to read the instructions. Most problems people on here have is because they, for whatever reason, don't read instructions.

From the same post where you got the ROM.

•Ensure you have USB debugging enabled on your device (enabled in Settings->Applications->Development)

•If you are using Windows, your USB 'Android Developer Bridge' driver MUST be the one included in this download (use 'Have Disk' functionality in device manager to change if required)

•Download the zip file of your choice from the links below (or the online kitchen) and extract on your Windows PC, Linux PC or Mac

•Connect your device to your PC

Nowhere does it say to put the device into recovery, which is what you've done (hold back 2 seconds, hold power 2 seconds etc). APX is the driver for recovery. "Android Phone" is what you'll see if you follow the instructions and have installed the driver correctly.

Good luck

You also cant just run the file by selecting run as administrator, which it sounds like your doing. You have to open a command prompt window and type the commands from within the folder containing the download.

Re-read the guide its all there.
