Guest King Mustard Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 Is it possible to wake the Blade (to display the lock screen) with any button? Currently, only pressing the Power button wakes the phone and not the Home button as I'd expect.
Guest Roph Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 If the screen has timed out (but the phone hasn't gone to sleep yet) you can wake with home.
Guest King Mustard Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 (edited) If the screen has timed out (but the phone hasn't gone to sleep yet) you can wake with home. When you press the Power button, the options to lock the phone and silence the phone appear. I believe that's Sleep rather than a time-out, yep? I'm wanting to be able to press the Home button as well as the Power button to bring up those two options. Edited May 18, 2011 by King Mustard

I believe that's Sleep rather than a time-out, yep? I'm wanting to be able to press the Home button as well as the Power button to bring up those two options. I think I remember reading about a hardware reason why only the power button may wake the phone, like that the other buttons only receive power when the phone is already awake. Not sure on this though. You can try this: (needs root) Look in /system/etc/keylayout, you see one or more ****.kl files, these describe the actions of buttons, basically. In CM7 ROM, I edit the qwerty.kl file to change button actions. In other ROMs the right file may be named different things. Look and see, if there are multiple then just try changing one at a time until you get the effect you want. Anyway, the syntax of the file is pretty obvious, just find the line for the home, menu, back buttons (and volume if you like), and make sure the line ends with WAKE not WAKE_DROPPED or just nothing. You should see what I mean. If you make the edit and see no change.. guess my first statement was correct :P A final point, editing these files is useful for re-mapping buttons. Sometimes I remap the vol buttons to be search and call instead, since I miss having those buttons. Changes take effect on reboot FYI. For a quicker reboot, use 'pskill zygote' in adb shell or elevated terminal. Hope this helps!
