Hi,

I am sorry if somone has already discussed this. I honestly tried to find this topic in the forum but could not.

The compass on my SF behaves strange way. It is jumping all the time resulting chaotic behaviour in applications like Compass or Google Sky Map. It is not smooth and stable as in Iphones.

When I use similar sky map or compass apps on Iphone the map is responding smoothly to my movements, but SF is jumping back and forth.

Could anyone please advicce if there is any cure for this or what am I doing wrong?

I don't think you need an app to do that, the movement over all 3 axis is enough to recalibrate it.

Thanks for your replies.

My compass app also has the recalibration function, I tried figure 8 movement but it did not seem to help.

How should I keep the phone while doing this movement? Vertically with San Francisco logo on top, Vertically with the logo on side, or horisontally. And also is the movement istelf vertical or horisontal?

Do I have to be outside to calibrate it, or it does not matter where you are doing this?

I noticed that when I am holding it horisontally on my hand the compass sticks in one place and shows wrong direction completely, but vertically it works better.

Its not a separate app, its built into the compass that i use.

and @OP you need too rotate your phone as you more it
