Cm7.

Post # 1440 or 1444 (don't remember which one) in the cm7 kang 1.2.18 thread. That's the version I use at this moment, and it's smooth and even on my old liquid it's running smoothly :P

choice is def yours..if you are looking for stock like roms with zero bugs go ahead with 2.2 froyo either T&L or MIUI 1.3.18 carrera ..i prefer MIUI in 2.2 as it has more functionality then stock roms......if u prefer GB roms. it has 2.3.3 & 2.3.4 ...2.3.3 has old sensor & graphic about 85-90 % stable..in which i would prefer koud's cm 7 kang and miui 1.4.15..finally coming to GB 2.3.4..kouds 7.0.2 with old sensor works amazing would say 90-95% stable saME IS Thepastos rc0.miui 1.5.16 is very snappy too about 85-90% stable..as proximity dont work at times...other then it all works fine.....so the choice s yours.... Hope that helps :P

B/w i'm using .04 bin not the .08 vfit bin

T&L with 2.3 theme~!! Work Perfect, and light rom. For me, I like the stable, bug-free rom. I tried LCR,CM6.1, they are good. LCR is stable and hv some good configuration, but quite slow i think. CM6.1 reboot sometimes~

T&L smooth and stable! I haven't tried CM7.1~ I'm waiting for bug-free CM7

Froyo: fear factory rom and T&L 08 are both Acer-based ROM and workgood.

GB: CM 7.1 RC0 with test boot. (android 2.3.4)

LeoGB 5.0. (android 2.3.3)

Either run smooth with good battery life, but i have found CM7.1 slighty more responsive.

First flash 4.002.14_EMEA_GEN1 acer bin if you don't have it. 4.008.08 radio firmware could have some battery draining problems (I cannot say that for sure).

4.008.08 roms and cm7/miui etc work on top of 4.002.14 radio firmware.

If you want stability but no advanced features use an acer based rom (the ones based on acer's version 4.008.08 are faster, like fear_4.008.08 or t&l.08).

If you want some more speed and features flash gnufabio's chocolate kernel on top of fear_4.008.08 (cifs, tuntap, overclock). Drawback is that sometimes it drains battery a lot (a rare bug, but annoying). I use that combination for daily use.

If you want more features at os level, you should try gingerbread roms. All of them use chocolate kernel, so sometimes the drain bug happen (thepasto says that with its latest build it doesn't occur). No hardware accelerated video camera recording on gingerbread (cm7, miui etc etc).

I hope that this helps..

So long story short, you should not bother with custom roms, because they will make your life miserable with their sensless and un-traceable names and versioning and d/l links, and patches over patches, and scripts and, and, and... all the bugs. No website, no centralized "latest rom d/l" topic with ONE post listing ONLY the last 1-2-3 versions, no nothing, just randomly thrown-in d/l links on a forum... you only need to read through 20 to 90 pages of jibberish to find the latest version... and then the patches are all over the place again.

I am glad that there are several active devs and modders for Acer Liquid, but they seriously need some organising, because this is just a pitiful mess. PITIFUL. Except MIUI, it seems to have a clean and straight forward versioning, unlike the CM ports.

"Organizing" seems rite word..but stop giving " Bull" custom rom's are modded roms for better performance..most dev here know what they do & it take some long ass effort to make the rom work smooth which s customized according to user's requirement instead being thankful ur ranting crap..if u know how to build a ROm why don't u help 'em dev ..they will def walk u through how to make it work.just stop back bitting.unless u know how to use custom roms..and its obvious patches are made according to users review, and everyone including dev have life other then moddin 'em ROM's.so think before u give a feedback, No offense to you...thanks much appreciate :P

I just came accross this page.

In my opinion, Liquid Next is the best rom I have tried for my liquid E

I have used t&l 2.2 for long time, it doesn't have bug at all. but it isn't fast enough.

then i moved to Cyano rom, it's fast , powerful and organized well in the download page, yet, the greatest problem i can't bear, is the battery drain

finally i came across the newly released LN rom, and used it for 3 months.

Almost 0 bugs, except occasionally hanged. But I thought it was my sd card problem rather than the rom itself.

That version is ancient mate, get MIUI 1.11.11 by Lens_Flare, it's the best miui out there.
