Phone gone bananas

hi all. bought blade and put 2.2 jellyfish on. used for 2mts then i noticed it slowed right down and would not power off. took battery out and left for 5mins. replaced battery and wont start up. only shown green android man. even when pressing volume button up or down to reload jellyfish it only shows green man. pls help a novice who loves and misses his new phone.

Boot into recovery and try a full wipe (factory reset) also go into mounts and storage and format system.

Then Reflash the ROM.

If you still have problems do the first step and then flash Swedish Spring and see if it makes a difference.

sorry, tried this tonight, screen goes blank.think its totally buggered. works on my girlfriends san fransisco fine. will prob wait for the new zte skate lol. cheers anyway

Completely replace everything on the phone :P well - almost :rolleyes:

Look for the Gen1 to Gen2 TPT, stickied in the ROMS and ROM customization thread.

Download, for example the, CM7 7.03 for easy install TPT.

Unzip the file and place the "image" folder on the root of your SD card (/sdcard/image/)

Then put the Card in your phone

Take out battery, leave for 5 secs, replace.

Hold MENU VOLUME UP and POWER at the same time, and some green text will appear.

Just leave it, and let it do its thing <_<

Eventually it will boot up CM7 for you, as well as install clockworkmod recovery.

Just bear in mind your phone will be Gen2 after the process, and Gen1 ROMS will no longer work (ie, the original japanese jellyfish.)

cheers for your help so far!!! did the above. green text scrolled down the screen and loaded. phone reset and android green man came on. stopped on for hrs. i feel i am nearly there but dont know whats meant to happen next.

If you saw the "skateboard" animation for AGES.

Don't worry - this is excepted and normal on the 1st boot of a custom ROM. Just take out the battery and put it back in again after about 5 secs. Then let it power up normally.

If you just saw the "Green Android Logo"

I assume you just booted with volume up and menu held, let it do its thing, saw the green writing, and it has then just displayed the green android logo since. Not touched the phone since? (no trying to put custom ROMS on or do anything else with your phone, atall? (not pressed any buttons? :P)

Anyhow, once again:

Just try taking out the battery, and wait a few secs (5ish), and try booting normally again.

If this fails, you can always try booting into recovery again, and flashing a ROM of your choice (be careful - the ROM must specify its a Gen2, as I think I mentioned above :rolleyes:)
