Guest londonzombie Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 Hi guys, I decided to try the 2.1 modaco custom rom. I am currently on baseband: GAUSB1A135100-EU Build 15609. I tried the Rom but couldnt get network to come up and FC's all over the place. Then realised I had not changed the baseband to the recomended one. I have now sucessfully installed rom 8105 to get the correct baseband but I still have no network and the baseband shows as Unknown (Im guessing it hasnt changed). Have I missed something? Any help would be great, And yes I have searched all night for the clues I need but all I could find were guides to change back the other way. Thanks a million in advance! Mark

Mark why are you trying to go from 2.2 froyo to 2.1 eclair ? the 351 build is much much better...
Guest jmhalder Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 the 351 build is much much better... indeed, root the 351 build, and install a custom launcher (zeam, ADW EX, ADW) and call it a day... or install StreakDroid, the most current releases work pretty well, 1.9.0 specifically. 1.9.1 will be out shortly I would imagine. The MoDaCo rom is now super-out-dated.

So I take it that its impossible to change from GAUSB1A135100-EU to GAUSB1A120621 and back again if needed? If this isnt possible and there doesnt seem to be a retail version of 2.1 for 00 anywhere on the net, Could anyone tell me what launcher is used in 2.1 (Black bars at top) and if it works in 2.2? Thanks a lot guys! PS - Might check out Streak Droid as suggested....

I'm pretty sure just flashing the 8105 recovery with fastboot, then dump the update.pkg on your SD card named specifically "update.pkg"... flash via recovery, should update the baseband along with the 8105 rom... no .zip updates such as the modaco rom will update the baseband... http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index...Streak#Official
Guest londonzombie Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 Thanks Jim, However that's exactly what I did. Flashed the stock 8105 recovery(Which was sucessfull) then flashed the 8015 rom, The O2 rom booted but I had the usual problems you find with running the wrong baseband. I'm curious to see if anyone has come from version GAUSB1A135100-EU to anything else. Would it be worth Flashing the earliest 00 1.6 rec and rom to see if the baseband downgrades? I guess if it does I could then try upgrading to GAUSB1A120621? Any input is greafully recieved as always, and thanks for your help so far!

Any input is greafully recieved as always, and thanks for your help so far! there are no 2.1 roms for anything other than o2 (21 baseband) rom there are instructions on how to change to the 8105 build on the forum. a quick search on 8105 brings up http://android.modaco.com/content/forum/32...ing-the-streak/ I seem to remember that there were issues going to 2.1 from anything other than the 1.6 o2 build, so try this http://android.modaco.com/index.php?s=&...t&p=1396115 however if you just want the baseband then grab the amss from here http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/manii/206/ and flash it with fastboot -i 0x413c flash amss amss.mbn Edited May 19, 2011 by fards

I can confirm that to do this you have to downgrade to the 1.6 O2 recovery and Rom first then upgrade to chosen version. Thanks again to everyone that contributed! Mark
