Guest Gunnerzz Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 Hey people. Im currently using the ZTE Blade, TFT, Gen1, Running - Swedish Spring RLS5 (Froyo) Just been looking at some of the performance tests on YouTube of Blades running Gingerbread. Wondering if its worth upgrading already. Just got my phone how i like it but would love it to run faster. Also as well as recommendations is it possible to back up apps before you flash. Tutorial for this? Thanks.

As you are Gen 1 you will either need to upgrade to Gen 2 or use the converter that must be flashed after flashing CM7 but BEFORE it boots. It's worth giving CM7 a go, there are still some bugs though read here: http://wiki.modaco.com/index.php/ZTE_Blade_CyanogenMod To backup apps just use MyBackupRoot or Titanium Backup from the Market. They're both easy to use and quite self explanatory, just make sure you only backup USER apps.

Whilst awesome, Titanium Backup is the least self explanatory program ever made! It has a big backup and restore button in the middle of the screen and if you press that to carry out a backup or restore then you're doing it wrong. How is that self explanatory? :P The correct procedure btw if you do choose to use it is to press menu and then batch. Edited May 18, 2011 by targetbsp
