Guest hugobosslives Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 what did you root it with? universal androot? or a superuser image? etc...... also does, other root programs work (like titanium, root explorer, etc) as this could be a app problem rather than a root problem.
Guest Pondlife Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 Have you tried a different version or another download of the clockwork recovery manager? Not that I think there is anything wrong with that quide but I think I used the guide on here myself http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...zte-blade-gen1/ the first time and the second time just put the TPT of CM7.0.3 on which put clockwork on for me as well as the rom.
Guest sunil79 Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 (edited) Thanks for the replies guys. hugobosslives - i used universal androot. Btw Ive realy confused myself, is clockwork the name of the software developer of "recovery Manager"? Also Is it worth me unistalling all the apps i downloaded for the process and starting again i.e ES file Explorer, ManD5, Recovery Manager and Unviersal Androot. Edited May 20, 2011 by sunil79

Btw Ive realy confused myself, is clockwork the name of the software developer of "recovery Manager"? Also Is it worth me unistalling all the apps i downloaded for the process and starting again i.e ES file Explorer, ManD5, Recovery Manager and Unviersal Androot. when you use universal androot. before you hit "root me" (or something like that) it has a box above where you choose the superuser app. choose the version for what ever android version your on (i assume your on 2.1). then hit root. and it should say something like "your phone is already rooted" (its not) then hit "root me anyway". it should then tell you (after 10 secs or so) that it worked. then to check your rooted go to the market and download an app that requires root. for example 'titanium backup free'. then when you run this app it will say, "checking root" and then a box should come up saying sometime like: "titanium backup is requesting root. allow?" click rememeber and allow. if the above works, the root process worked. then try installing recovery manager (you dont need to reinstall unrelated apps) and try again. in answer to this: "Pondlife - How do i install / find a different version of "recovery manager". Btw Ive realy confused myself, is clockwork the name of the software developer of "recovery Manager?" you dont need a different version of recovery manager. just make sure you have the right version of clockwork downloaded. (MAKE SURE IT IS GEN1) clockwork is the name of the recovery image. (its just the most common one). clockwork is not made by sebastian (who made recovery manager). if you still fail to get recovery manager working, just do it another way.... eg fastboot, or terminal, or rom manger etc. ask if you dont know how to do these ways.....
Guest Pondlife Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 (edited) Yeah sorry think I didn't help matters there, got confused as to where it was force closing. Thought it was after the boot into the text based recovery rather than the recovery manager launched from apps drawer. Blimey that guide you are using has changed quite a lot since I read it when I got the first one, seemed a lot simpler before. Did find one thing on the guide I linked to before (although that guide could use updating):- If Recovery Manager keep force closing - try: > re-rooting the phone > removing the Cache of Recovery Manager (in Settings > Applications) Edited May 20, 2011 by Pondlife
