Guest Ar_jay Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 Hello, Firstly I will apologise if this has already been answered as I have searched, but to no avail I have just moved from CM 7.0.3 Stable to Swedish spring, half because I was annoyed with the occasional bugs in CM7 and half because I was bored. The two things I miss immediately are the notification bar power widget and the draggable text cursor from cyanogenmod, most notably the text cursor. I find it very useful to be able to go to a specific letter in a work rather than tapping wildly and hoping for the best, seeing as the blade doesn't have a trackpad. So my question is, is there a way to get either of these things in Swedish Spring RLS5? I have found this JGM Software Gingerbread Theme for FLB-Froyo, Swedish Spring and Japanese Spring but i dont think the notification widget works in SS yet. Can anyone help? Thanks very much :P

Thanks very much :P Quicksettings from the Market is kind of similar to the Notification Bar power widget. I don't think there's the draggable text cursor though, I miss it too when I use SS but it's a Gingerbread feature. The Notification widget isn't there, "There is no power widget in the notification bar." Edited May 19, 2011 by k0zmic

CM7 is great, but it just needs a little more time :P
Guest TheManicGibbon Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 (edited) Hi, I'm the dev for the JGM Software Gingerbread themes. I am working on putting the power widget in the notification bar, but at the moment I'm very busy with exams and stuff so it may be a few weeks yet. Sorry! And yes, the cursor is a 2.3 Gingerbread feature. Edited May 19, 2011 by TheManicGibbon

Guest slitz Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 Try using a different keyboard to get software arrow keys on the keyboard, Smart Keyboard Pro (also includes volume key cursor) definitely has it. I think Better Keyboard might have it, I haven't tried it. Or use the HTC keyboard, the cursor is adjustable by the volume key.
Guest Ar_jay Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 I am currently using smart keyboard pro - definitely the best keyboard, and I was aware of the arrows, which does solve the problem, but its not as useful as the draggable cursor obviously. @TheManicGibbon, Thanks, ill check back at some point later on, I know what you mean about exams! Im currently in the library revising for my finals but procrastinating as usual. Finally, I will go back to CM7 soon I imagine, but at the end of the day the roms aren't really *that* different, and my main reason for changing is not because one is better than the other, its just that i am bored and it gives me something to do (anything but quantum mechanics revision xD)
