How about 3g USB dongles?

I don't have a 3G dongle to test, if you could please let me know how you added this, I will merge it in to the main VegaComb build and credit you :P Doesn't make any sense splitting roms

That's great! What memory management changes have you made? Does this ROM resolve the lockups that happen when you run out of memory/don't close some processes?

Why are you hijacking Corvus and newbe5's hard work. The last thing we need is another vegacomb version while these guys are working for us

Um because vegas don't have a sim port so its always going to need a port for the viewpad and Pov would be my guess, given the memory requirments of HC, seems like a good idea to not have to include all the extra bits for gps and 3g in the main build?.. or am i confused (only have Vega and loving Vegacomb so feel free to correct me)

which dongle are you using?

Hi

I can confirm i have a working 3g connection with my huawei e220 dongle with this ROM. Although i dont totally agree with you hijacking Newbe and Corvus ROM , I have to give you props for this getting 3G working. I also find that this ROM is alot more stable running at 1ghz rather than 1.5 , it is so much smoother and no lock-ups.

I will still however be going back to corvus 5 as i am still unable to get the Gallery ap to work correctly or for the Vega to even recognise my music and video files saved on my sd card which is very frustrating as if this worked, the ROM would be fully operational for me to use on a day to day basis.

Thx

Please incorporate these changes into the mainstream Vegacomb rom, I won't call this "Hijacking" because it is making improvements but for the good of the community I suggest working with corvus and newbe5 as opposed to working separate. As your name implies rebel1 you don't have to be rebellious  in the end we're all rebellious hacking this bad boy onto our devices :P

I have to say that I disagree with these "hijacking" statements. The entire Android modding community relies on people building upon other peoples work and "standing on the shoulders of giants". It drives innovation and quality and provides, in my not so humble opinion, heathly competition.

Should we have only Froyo ROM (and who would choose which it was to be?). One Gingerbreadl ROM.

As long as credit and thanks is given, and it was, I see no problem.

I'm also sure that Newbe5 and Corvus are more than men enough to deal with it as they see fit.

Don't you just hate the way that submit button works?

Perhaps the word "hijacking" i used was out of term but it was not meant to be. I gave props for getting the 3g working and the stability of the ROM, was just suprised to see this sitting alongside the official vegacomb thread, thats all.

scratch that now working on the 5th reboot with the Huawei/vodafone k3565

fantastic, would be great if we could merge this into the development effort

So does this ROM resolve the instability issues experienced in VegaComb 1.3? Can anyone confirm this? (Soft lockups - ie when memory runs too low)

Guest Hasanpb

Works fine, but sometime it freeze :P I didn`t test GPS so I`ll test it during this weekend. Nice work. Thanks.

no idea what you did with memory tweeks but I have only had one lockup since last night

one purely cosmetic thing is the network provider is being displayed as FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

I made a big mistake when I installed that ROM

How can I ever get used again to Android 2.2 or 2.3 :P

This is still beta, but 3G works, WiFi works, my Gmail works, market works, Titanium Backup works (after installing its own busybox).

Great work! I tried the Corvus and Newbe5 VegaComb, but uninstalled it as soon as I saw that internal 3G modem is not working. Now with rebel1s additional work this is usable for me.
