Headset notification tone

I recently got a bluetooth headset for my SF, mainly for listening to GPS directions while riding my motorbike. The volume of the Navigation software is fine, but whenever I get a text, the volume of the notification tone nearly blasts my eardrums out! I can turn it down but then it's too quiet for normal use without the headset so I'm constantly turning my volume up and down.

I was wondering if there is any way to just stop text notifications sounding over the headset altogether, either via settings or even an app? :P

Depends what you are using. I don't know if it's just for over the headset but in the Messaging app (whichever one you use), go to the settings and in the notifications area, turn of the tone.
