Guest siam Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 Ive just received my first ever Orange San Francisco and I am just starting out on the learning process , the phones info is .. Mod version CyanogenMod 7.0.0 Blade Kennel 2.6.32.9 Android 2.3.3 Build GRI40 the phones battery level is 89% if I just put down the running phone , with in a few seconds the screen dims , then the phone shuts off completely , I then press the top power button and hold it down for a few seconds, the screen then lights up, and I am presented with the following options .. Silent mode airplane mode choose profile reboot power off I then choose > choose profile > then I tick default The phone then seems to run ok for a few minuets , then it shuts its self off once more . ive looked in the settings and cannot see any thing I think may be causing this problem, although this being my first Android phone, ive altered a few settings when I firse receved the phone, so may be ive gone and messed some thing up :P any advice for this new Android boy please Thanks
Guest qkimat Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 Install either SS5 or one of the new CM7 Nightly versions and check if the problem still occurs. Your rom is preety unstable and that could be the cause of the issue.
Guest ColdEmbrace Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 Dont panic your phone is asleep, tap the power button it will open the lock screen, slide too unlock and your phone will work as normal. Your phone dims the screen then after a little while longer goes too sleep too conserve battery power and the only way too wake from sleep without extra programs is to use the power button.

There are others though, please search through the forums there is likely to be something to suit your needs.

Guest DaveyP Posted June 3, 2011 Report Posted June 3, 2011 (edited) Settings / Display / Screen timeout You could set it to 30mins ... but there will be a down side :D The slide to unlock can also be disabled at Settings / Location & Security / Set up screen lock (but there are good reasons for keeping it on ..lol) Edited June 3, 2011 by DaveyP

Guest DaveyP Posted June 4, 2011 Report Posted June 4, 2011 I know I'm going to sound daft ... Better to ask a question and take a risk, rather than never knowing an answer. The answer to the next question is 42 :D
