Guest Christian Engen Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 Where does the O2X keep its splash1.bmp or equivalent? Can I simply push a file there to replace it or do I need to flash? Can I flash? Do I need "Full" root for it? Do I *have* full root when I rooted with SuperOneClick?

Also check out this XDA. there is a thread there about boot screen. use the search engine to find it quickly. PM me if you cant find it.
Guest Rusty! Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 The animation isn't the same as the splash screen, that's the LG logo before the animation.
Guest Christian Engen Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 Yes, bootanimation.zip is easy enough to replace. The splash.bmp is trickier. With my old Desire I used a special tool to convert pictures to the proper format and flash them. And the word "splash" is mentioned twice in the entire 2X section of XDA, and that's someone stuck in a bootloop. I was actually hoping to attract Paul's attention. I figure if anyone knows how to do this, it's him. :P
Guest 75markus Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 yes.on my older android phone, i used to flash "logo.png" with an update.zip file , but it was quite dangerous, because this file was located in a partition togehther with some bootvariables ... Max size for this file was 192KB, when you flasehd bigger file -> phone really bricked, not booting & download mode avaible ! perhaps paul can give us a hint about max. size, partition, etc (and provide a flashable update.zip perhaps :P )
Guest aaww Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 is this what you are looking for ? use google translate http://goo.gl/2IIAx cheers
Guest Rusty! Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 No that's just the animation, basic stuff. The splash is a bit more fiddly, on HTC phones you have to fastboot flash them.
