Guest Bound Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 (edited) Hey everyone. Firstly, sorry for starting a thread, I have searched and persevered all yesterday to try to find an answer but I can't. Initially I had noobish problems, even as an advance PC user, this is unknown territory to me, so a little bit of a learning curve, I had it unlocked in like 30 seconds.. However I then tried to download Ask Mr Pigfish from the official android marketplace and got a "google account has no device registered" error.. then the account for some reason wouldn't sync.. Then my APN settings were wrong, however all thats sorted now! - So good stuff. Anyway I'm trying to install Swedish Spring RLS5 to my San Francisco. Using this guide. I've installed Ask Mr Pigfish, I'm on Gen 1. Installed Astro File Manager, and installed Clockwork (3.0.2.4), the MD5 was correct (8bdd0433953788a75bebd0c2899de0df). I tried to install ZTE-Blade Recovery Manager 0.34b but could not find older versions as its been updated to 0.36, I would of thought it would still be backwards compatible though! So recovery manager has super user permissions, I get to the last stage, having copied both clockwork 3.0.2.4, clockwork 3.1.0.1 and clock work 2.5.1.8-joe.img to SD, and what ever one I try recovery manager just says "Currently installed recovery: Unrecognised". I also noticed that if I turn of my phone and turn it back on again, I have to re-root it to get into recovery manager.. And like I say I've copied both the zips (for some reason I thought this might be relevant and that it might want it in zipped format) and the unzipped form, these are just the IMG files.. There are no supporting files that I need (for the actual new rom - its just 1 img file) correct? I would like to say though.. I am really impressed with my phone, and the guide that i'm following, just not my own stupidity, ignorance and incompetence! Oh the shame. Edited May 21, 2011 by Bound
Guest Jetba Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 Can you go in to recovery? you should be able to access it by booting your phone while pressing volume down. So switch it off, press power and hold volume down same time.
Guest hugobosslives Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 dont worry if it sez unregconised. should still work (pressing 'menu > update database' might resolve this tho) dont flash the one with joe in the name. that is for a different phone. yes, non-perm root, will disappear with rebooting. flash it as a .img file once you've flashed it. turn off. and boot into clockwork (vol-) and then choose your rom from your sdcard (zip) after wiping.
