ZTE Light Tab 3 will have 7 inch display panel, on the other hand Tab 10 will come with 10 inch display with 1,280 x 800 pixels resolution. These specifications may change in future, but for now this is final.

Hi Guys,

ZTE Light 2 has been released in my country (Indonesia) and I have one. It use gingerbread 2.3.4 and so far I successfully rooted it with the latest version of zergRush. No one has developed custom CWM recovery for this tablet yet, let alone make cyanogenmod rom (oh I wish... :D).

If anyone interested, I am willing to provide rom dump of this tablet. I put recovery last_log file at pastebin if anyone interested.

edit:

Original recovery dump uploaded to 4shared.

Original rom dump here.

Thank you for the info.

To root, install cwm beta2 made by sebastian404. Then from cwm, install su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip. You have to directly go to cwm menu after fastboot. Otherwise the OS will replace cwm with original recovery. In that case you have to install cwm again.

You have 1.4GHz CPU? V9+ only clocked @1GHz. Is it possible that it is slightly overclocked at the kernel?

Btw, would you mind making a rom dump of your tablet. I would love to compare it to other V9+.

ZTE love to complicate things, but as far as I understand it there are four devices on the go...

7" - V71A / Vodafone Smart Tab 7

9" - V9+ / V9A / Light Tab 2

9" - V9 / V9C / Light Tab

11" - V11A / Vodafone Smart Tab 11

I believe clove are going to be selling the 9A version at the end of the month, Clove had it listed on their site, but they seem to of gone at the moment....

Yes, V9A (aka Light Tab 2) is available in Hong Kong already. Just managed to get one in hands.

I have been using Blade and Light for a good while so can let you guys know how it fares comparing to the two.

And, tell me if you need any benchmark scores and I will run them before sending it off to make protectors and cases. (Yes, it looks almost identical to V9 but the sizes are slightly different.)

Allow me to say, it's all brought to you by casesss.com laugh.gif

Update: Vellamo freezes on first run, damn!

Update 2: scores 832 on Vellamo, not bad for a single core tablet comparing to my dual core Galaxy Tab 10.1 with 1001 running Android 3.1

Update 3: Quadrant is about 2250.

This tab looks great, why isn't it getting more attention? I read it doesn't include android market (cringe) I mean google play. If that's true wouldn't there be a way to install market on it?

It is preinstalled with Google Play as long as you purchase it outside of China.

The true downside, IMO, is that no words on any future upgrade to Honeycomb or ICS as of today.

A 2012 tablet with no ICS update is suicidal (ok, or you can sell on Voda or Orange for £99 and get very popular.)

The genuine ZTE smart cover is available here:
