Guest Len Ash Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 (edited) You may find this a convenient way of trying CM7 with common Apps preloaded and ready to go from one single flash. This is based on N78, so any issues associated with that build will prevail. The ROM has the stock Gingerbread Launcher in lieu of ADW. This is somewhat smoother. IMHO. No default Wallpaper - choose as required via the usual Menu button route. The Autobrightness settings are improved, although the CM7 ROM has issues with autobrightness (sticking/locking). Significant CM7 bling has been removed - deliberately - to lighten up the ROM for more general day-to-day use. In Settings, the Cyanogen Mod settings entry is there but redundant and will FC in a benign way. If you enjoy the full-on CM experience, this is not for you. The following up-to-date apps have been added with their library files and permissions etc. where required:GTalkGMailStreetMapsMarketVoice DialerScreenshotSpeedtestFacebookTwitterYoutubeCar HomeFancyWidgetNote that as per the stock CM7 build(s), Maps/Nav will reboot on first use (only) Feel free to remove any of the above that are not desired. The Notifications and Ringtone files have been updated and build.prop corrected. The ROM is 131MB total CM7 one ROM Public N78 md5 1ec233725952b7d616ec57031c4fa91f Same as above, but N81 version (has modified Phone.apk in Nightly, libaudio.so is from "issue 2858" interim fix) Why no N82? Broken... I tested it earlier and it is not good...! Guest ThrashMan Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 If only you hadn't removed the CM Settings :P Everyone's preferences are different and that menu contained a lot of settings.

TY On another note, for anyone who has flashed either the N81 ROM of mine OR the libaudio.so file on to another CM7 ROM, could you please report any noticeable differences in call performance, battery usage, hiss etc.? Cheers Edited May 22, 2011 by Len Ash

Cheers I'm on a "fixed" '72 and will flash this libaudio.so, but what are we excepting it to do, in call hiss reduction/perofmane or something?
Guest Len Ash Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 (edited) Here's a cool boot splash image to replace the (bland?) stock Green Android.... (works on any ROM) I realise this has absolutely fook all to do with CM7.... Flash in CWMSplashupdate.zip Edited May 22, 2011 by Len Ash

Guest ThrashMan Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 I finally got around to testing this ROM, is pretty good. It's a shame it has a dodgy CM7 underneath. I can't wait to see what you do when we finally get a good stable CM7 :P

I can't wait to see what you do when we finally get a good stable CM7 :P I am not enjoying the N81 version at all! I decided to run it as a phone during today and it went bananas after about 14 hours - huge battery drain, reboots, lock ups. (This is with the libaudio.so fix) I am now back to trying the N78 version - without the libaudio fix.... for a day or so.
