hi! i already have the blade but i would like to get a phone with bigger screen than the blade and around 300 euros maximum!

there is the skate i was/am waiting but i just read from zte site that it will not have an ARMv7 processor i guess so i am not willin to buy it if it doesnt have that processor..

there is Huawei ideos x5 also which looks a good phone and its just 188 euros here in GR!

any thoughts :P??

Thank you btw

Ideos has good specs, its like Desire Z, a fine phone, but its a Huawei, apparently not the most reputable manufacturer. People on the forum said Ideos x5 has its issues, namely bad wifi connectivity, but than again others had no problems whatsoever. I think its a good buy, especially if it comes with a 2 year warranty.

Motorola Defy is a decent alternative, has a CM7 rom (not sure if official).

2.3.3 rom for it got leaked as well.

But if the Ideos X5 has the same processor as the Desire Z then you might be able to overclock it to 1.8 Ghz.

So either a phone you can play hot potato with or a Huawei?

Defy has 3.7" at 480x854 resolution with A8 800 Mhz, camera is supposed to pretty good.

Huawei has 3.8" at 480x800 resolution with second generation snapdragon at 800 Mhz.

Both only support up to 2 finger proper multi-touch.

second hand galaxy S would be a good choice, 180-210£ on eBay.

I'm getting a new Android Phone at the end of the month, Ideos X5 Sim Free at the carphone warehouse is £169.95 but no contract or pay as you go deals

Out of stock at CPW atm, I read it's a online only deal. You could also wait a month or so when more high-end (i.e. dual-core) phones roll out and the current phones out will drop price. The PowerVR SGX540 is a lot better than the Adreno 205, without overclock and even better with overclock. Might be a bit of a long wait if you're impatient though.

I believe the Nexus S scores ~44 fps and ~60 fps when overclocked to 1.6 Ghz vs the Adreno 205's (Desire Z) ~27 fps at 800 Mhz and ~45 fps overclocked to 1.5 Ghz; both using Nenamark. Although the Nexus S might've pulled ahead because of Gingerbread. IIRC, the Galaxy S wasn't that far behind the Nexus S in Nenamark.

Ideos X6 looks like it has similar specifications to the Desire HD minus the ram (X6 has 512 MB vs DHD's 768 MB).

Samsung Wave has the same specs as galaxy S, but its much cheaper. It has Bada out of the box, but they apparently ported Android to it, not sure how well it works tho. I saw a few good deals here in Slovenia, but I would rather have Wave II with a 3.7' screen.

I keep reading that the first Wave is better than the Wave 2, I'm not sure why as I've never used Bada. I think it might be the screen type?

Well, Im sticking with my blade :P

I 'spose if you want to upgrade look out for 1) Android (DUH!) and 2) Devs: half the reason I love the Blade is the community, the customization. Since buying it, I have entered a world of modding in more fields and will now refuse to buy anything without that modding value

Same as ZTE very variable build quality. (Various issues with blade wifi signal due to poor manufacturing). Don't give a crap about providing good quality rom's (point releases etc).
