Guest kryzop Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 (edited) What a great introduction, I have been following the forum for long but never got involved, flashed couple of devices since then but this VEGA seems to be pretty much dead. STEPS Bought VEGA FLash MODACOO R8 FLash VEGACOMB Alpha Bricked but went back after hard reboot and reflashing stock rom Flash Back stock ROM Flash VEGACOM Alpha again FLash VEGACOMB Beta 1.4 SUccess. Because of the flash issues i then looked at ZPAD rom as flash problems seemed to be fixed my modders __i just wanted a sneak peak at the setup___ REboot recovery Pointed to ZIP ZPAD3.0 Error Reboot from RECOVERY BLACK SCREEEN / BLACK SCREEN and well ... BLACK SCREEN I tried hard reboot but no detected via USB and screen just stays on for 2-3 seconds and then back in BLACK. I really think i armed which i feel bad about. ... Tried, SDK + ADB Adb devices not found Can START SERVER and KILL SERVER but not much else. I unscrewed back panel looking for a hidden hard reset but no luck. Anyone with and idea ?? Thanks a lot guys and great work, support and ethics on this forum.... Kryzop (FABIEN Edited May 22, 2011 by kryzop
Guest damuffinman Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 Have you tried using NVFlash to get back to stock?
Guest simonta Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 Repeat after me (as 1,000 people before you have done - search for "brickable") The Vega is unbrickable The Vega is unbrickable The Vega is unbrickable The Vega is unbrickable The Vega is unbrickable The Vega is unbrickable The Vega is unbrickable The Vega is unbrickable :P Just put the stock Advent ROM back on. You can ALWAYS do this. If you can't get into recovery, try, try and try again. It will come to you. See many threads on here with extra advice like drink beer, wait for 20 minutes, try again etc. Remember you will see NOTHING on the Vega screen in recovery. Not even the backlight. If you do see anything, you've missed it so power off and try again. There is no hard reset button and taking the battery out will do nothing because the ROM is flashed to a chip.
Guest simonta Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 By the way, could be a long wait for flash on VegaComb. Might be tomorrow, might be June the 23rd of October. Better off with Corvus ROM if you can flash, no need for ZPad or any other tablet ROM.

The state that the vega enters when you flashed to ROM in the past can be done no matter what way the vega seems just keep trying, on personal experience if you can't get it into the recovery mode (black screen) first time hold the buttons for shorter 1 / 1.5 seconds rather than 2. And flash works with VegaComb Beta 1.4 but only in full screen so you have to find the full screen button, so a few educated presses and you'll have full screen flash video playing. Guest stephen337 Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 I have found that the button timing is reall hit and miss, but in thedock I can get it first time every time.

Guest HypoTurtle Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 CM7 (from xda) is good until VegaComb is out of beta, and with the nightlies it essentially updates itself. FYI CM7 is running on 2.3 - Gingerbread and Corvus5 is running on 2.2 - Froyo
Guest kryzop Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 Corvus5 is great, fast an stable I will try corvus, I have tried cm7 but few stuff were lacking out of the box to my liking... Anyway i am writing rhis post from my freshly rescuscitated vegacomb ... so title of this post becomes a bit irrelevant' I will keep posting my adventures until the eeepad finally gets here, Thanks for the help
