Guest ijf Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 Hi folks, I recently put a new ROM (r4-update-modacocustomrom-blade-signed.zip) on my Orange San Francisco. All seemed to be well, but now I notice that I don't have 3G coverage anymore and the coverage I do have seems to be pretty lousy. Is there anything I can do to the new ROM to make it work better? If not, what steps should I take? Is it easy enough to get the original Orange ROM back on? Thanks, Ian

Guest ThrashMan Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 Try removing the tick marked 2G only, somewhere under wireless settings.

Just tried Swedish Spring... it's nasty... there's a whole lot of crashing going on there! I've gone back to the MoDaCo ROM mentioned earlier and I'll try the airplane mode to see what happens, cheers, not exactly optimistic though. I'll let you know if it works.

Did you do a full wipe? For many people it's the most stable. This is the most up to date Modaco ROM: http://loadbalancing.modaco.com/download.p...en-unsigned.zip Edited May 22, 2011 by k0zmic

No I didn't try a full wipe... that would explain why I'm still seeing all my old apps :P I'll wipe and hopefully that'll sort things out... thanks!

Yeah always do a full wipe when changing to different ROM's. You don't always need to wipe everything if upgrading to a newer version of the same ROM. Clockworkmod > Wipe all data/factory reset and go into mounts and storage and format system. Once you do this try Swedish Spring again since it's the most up to date.

Just one Q, what does the "H" mean beside the signal indicator where I previously saw "3G"... HSDPA?
