Metamorph compliable with zte blade?

Just wondering whether all metamorph themes can be used on the blade, and are they universal. As in they work on all ROMs or do only a few work on CM7 for example?

I would assume that they MUST say they are ROM specific. Because metamorph is essentially editing frameworkres.apk, which is unique to every ROM.

And so you can't put a Cm7 metamorph on a Flibblesan ROM, because they use different frameworkres.apk's, etc.

That is not the whole truth. Some of them are rom spesific, some of them are not.

If the mod is changing images only and usually the images are located in the same paths, it should work just fine.

For instance you got a metamorph theme for FLB that is going to change status bar background image, that mod should work in SS too.

So sure I had this a while back never used it. But anyways I'm running CM7 which files am I going too need, I want too change the lockscreen icons.

I used that Steel blue meta morph for my lockscreen :P

I unziped it (like you should) but edited the image files before I applied the metamorph so I have custom icons :rolleyes:

There is also a honeycomb clock out there which changes the look of the clock on the lockscreen..

Im sure there are "guides" elsewhere for using metamorph, but im pretty sure i worked it out myself <_<

I want to use the stock theme from CM7 but change the lockscreen.

I have the relevant Icons from my WidgetLocker theme

Which files do I need to unzip and edit?

I wasn't clear either :P applying the steel blue lockscreen ONLY changes the lockscreen, you don't need to have the theme applied either.

Oh and it does some nice animations (except the keyboard one! - which deleted) - and some stuff to the edges of menu's....

Now unzip it and make any changes to images. Though name them appropriately, of course.

I deleted the keyboard animation files aswell (I would recommend you do too, as it is slow on the blades)

They are located in /framework-res/res/anim/ and they are called something like input_method_enter.xml and input_method_exit.xml

The other animations are nice, but just delete them if you don't want them. In fact just delete anything you don't want.

Now copy the contents of /steelbluelockscreen/ (or whatever it may be called) to /sdcard/androidthemes/ keeping the folder structure the same.

Now in metamorph, navigate to the steelbluelockscreen.xml and apply it. Choose go ahead or whatever when it gives an error, and then reboot, and voila, a customized lockscreen :L

Edit: second thoughts, do you think if i showed you the way I want the lockscreen and attatch the images I have for it that you could make it for me?

I could probably do the slide to unlock thing, with a bit of effort :D

and the other bits, eg, moving the clock, may be possible if you find a clockwork zip... ( you can get honeycomb clock like this)

but you may want to invest in widgetlocker or similar....

Im using widget locker for that screen it just drains my battery and lags my phone

not so worried about the clock i just want a less cluttered unlock

Well heres what I've got before you offered!

Probably looks a bit shabby - willing to redo!

Unzip to sdcard/androidthemes (well you don't have to, but it makes things easier)

open metamorph. Whilst it says checking you may have to repeatedly tap apply existing theme just to get it to open, otherwise it tends to send you home!

Select the text based slider .xml file in metamorph (you may need to navigate to it)

Say apply anyway to its alert thing.

And reboot!

Fyi I included a load of (nice) animations in that, but no other icons it had, if thats okay (I deleted the bad animations, don't worry)

Oh and whatever images you want and have would be nice :D (for a better version)

Applied it myself and it looks nice!

Ignore that thumbnail!

Its just been confuzing - I kept forgetting things!

This should be OK for most of the things, in call may look a bit strange but, otherwise it should be OK.

Hmmmmm

I'm trying to make my own metamoprh...

but its never completes, always says "applying framework-res.apk theme 1 of 1"

And it just keeps "loading"

Any ideas, anyone?

Its a puzzler :D

I'll try other metamorphs in a mo.

Otherwise I'll just make my own framework-res.apk by modding hte original directly :D
