Hi all,

Wondering if someone with more knowledge than me might be able to help me solve this problem.

I originally updated to SS R5 a few weeks ago and was enjoying using it. One problem with it was that I couldn't get the MMS to work even after trying all the APN settings that I could find as well as using the included APN's within SS. I'm on O2 pay monthly BTW.

The other day I flashed FLB just out of curiosity and had been using it for a few days. MMS worked fine with FLB with the inlcuded APN's. This made me think that I wanted to stay with FLB as it was working, but found it not quite as fast or smooth as SS so flashed back yesterday.

Now I'm back to square one and can't get MMS to work. I even tried using APN backup + restore and backed up the APN's included with FLB, reflashed SS, deleted all the APN's then restored from the ones I had saved with FLB. Still not working! I'm sure this must be related to SS in some way.

Can anyone please help my to try and get my MMS working?

Thanks guys.

Known problem with O2. It may not be the APNs but the MMS.apk file in /system/app. Loads of solutions both on this forum and across the Internet, some of which have variable results. What worked from me was simply swapping out the mms.apk from another rom where I knew it worked fine. So, if FLB worked for you, try swapping that over to replace the one in SS5. Having said that, SS5 hasn't given me any problems with MMS and I have been using, until recently, giffgaff which works over the O2 network.

Thanks very much for your reply. Can I swap the files about just using USB mode, or do I need to swap it and then re-flash?

Just copy across from your PC and overwrite the existing file, then reboot. I suggest taking a copy of the original and keeping that safe just in case of any conflicts.

You could swap out the file in the rom zip and then reflash, but that's just extra effort with all the hassle of backups, reloading stuff etc.

OK, tried both methods and still no joy. Guess I'm going to have to trade off MMS for a decent ROM. Ho hum....

Try changing apn type to "default, supl, mms" and make sure mobile data is on when sending/downloading mms

I have had the the same problem and the same trawling through various forum posts

Post 9 has worked for me in this thread :

http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...-san-francisco/

When I restored the new APNs - I removed the Port No from the 'O2MM'S APN - and then saved the APN - and restarted phone

MMS still working after a few days

Using SS R5
