Guest JF-Gino ld Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 Hey Guys, I just recently got myself a new shinny SGS2 and I gave my Liquid to my GF. Problem is that we want to keep the rom/apps/contacts etc. and change the google account to hers without a hard reset. I searched the forum and googled this extensively with no solution for this specific phone (or at least the posted solutions wont work on froyo/gingerbread) Clearing google data and even deleting com.android.providers.settings does nothing. Was wondering if anyone has a solution for me. Im on T & L 0.14 with choco kernel. Thanks in advance. :P
Guest Thmz159 Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 hmm, maybe just going to "Settings" and then "Accounts & synchronisation", and then delete your account there? Or do the contacts stay?
Guest JF-Gino ld Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 Tried to delete the account under "Accounts & synchronization" and it says that it cannot as its an "essential account" for google to operate. This is why I tried to delete the providers.settings and clear the google data.

Guest JF-Gino ld Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 Ya, I added the other account. That one is working and even syncing, but my old one still will not delete and gives the error. Market wont load cause of this and the phone constantly tries to login to my old account.
Guest simoneser Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 Try deleting with adb or RootExplorer /data/system/accounts.db then reboot and open Market: it'll ask you to login in your Google Account
