I believe the X10 has a first generation Snapdragon and the same with the Acer Liquid E, I suggest you consider the Ideos X5 instead as that has a second generation Snapdragon and it's not much more.

However, the x10 is clocked at 1ghz and the Ideos X5 at 800mhz. And because of the later generation, the ideos will probably run at the same speeds.

Also the x10 has a nicer camera and a slightly larger screen (may be seen as a positive or negative)

The X5 can be overclocked to 1.5 Ghz stable and 1.8 Ghz if you want. I hope you know the X5 has the Adreno 205 where as this X10 has the Adreno 200 (yes, the thing in our OSFs).

But yes the X10's camera will definitely be superior to the Ideos.

I really doubt the build quality will be that bad, people kept saying our OSFs had terrible build quality and look how long it's lasted. :P

That Desire Z at £200 looks amazing though, maybe you could get that thing! It's a pretty heavy beast though.

Well being a *whimper* child my parents probably don't want me getting an "expensive phone incase I loose it" (despite me having a "nice saving" atm)

Which is fair enough I suppose <_<

Anyhow, the blade isn't terribly outdated yet, and, I only got it at xmas!

I still laugh in the face of my apple-fanboy bestfriend who got a 3gs on a two year contract at some ridiculous rate, and now, wants a blade! :rolleyes:

And I meant the x10 claims to have a "scratch resistant" screen. Though I doubt it can compare to the defy in that field!

Wouldn't it be more the reason to get the X5? It's from a less known brand, you can tell your parents that it'll stand a lower chance of getting stolen since nobody knows what it is?!

Maybe some Nenamark results will convince you!

Although these guys seem to have a higher clock than the average OSF owner.

I'm no hardcore gamer :D :rolleyes:

I mean all I got is a nintendo wii (hacked, of course) and a rather slow single core 4ish year old desktop pc <_<

I've never even had a GBA! :( I'm an odd egg! And most games cost money and you have to link the market with a creditcard (or maybe paypal) and that would be overwhelming for my parents :D

Multi-touch is also important on a touchscreen device, the X5 has proper dual-touch:

I believe the X10 has a false dual-touch like the one found on the our OSF, but also the Nexus One and Desire. I can't find a decent video of it but it's not a built in feature when it first shipped a year ago.

But really please take a look at the Ideos X5 at least.

Aside from it's slightly smaller resolution (54 pixels more as it's true 16:9) and smaller physical screen size, the Xperia X10 and Ideos X5 are quite evenly matched.

Although the Huawei Ideos X5 has a superior CPU and GPU and more RAM, the Xperia X10 has a better camera and will most likely get Sony Ericsson's Gingerbread.

Do note that although in clock speed the Ideos X5 will be lower, it has a second generation Snapdragon versus the first generation Snapdragon on the Xperia X10.

If you want you can very vaguely base the two as a Nexus One vs the Desire Z specification wise that has nothing to do with the camera of course.

Camera comparison the Xperia X10 will probably win.
