Hello to all,

I removed orange apps and demo games using method from this forum, but phone storage (phone memory) remains the same size as before. Is it normal like that or I'm doing something wrong.

Then installed root explorer and found data/dalvik cache folder. In there found orange apps I already deleted. Is it safe to remove them from dalvik cache folder???

And one more question: what is low level of phone memory that provides phone to work without a problem (now I have on android system info - internal memory max. 208.12MB/free 52.66MB)? Is it 5, 10, 20MB, or...?

Thanks in advance.

In answer to your question:

The fact is orange apps are stored to /system/

Whereas user apps and other data on board the phone is stored in /data/

These are SEPARATE PARTITIONS. Meaning altering one will not effect the other.

To maximize space you would have to install some apps to /system/ (achieved simply by placing the apk you desire into /system/)

To gain more space, you would have to shrink your /system/ partition and increase your /data/ partition.

Please note that a custom ROM's are much faster than the stock ROM. And offer many more features aswell, such as support for froyo and gingerbread apps, and they are easily themed

Installing a custom ROM is as simple as unzipping a file to your phones SD card, and turning it on whilst holding Volume Up (to install only, booting afterwards is normal of course)

I wouldn't touch anything in your Dalvik Cache folder, if you delete some files you can get a lot of force closes.
