Hi everyone. I've been thinking about upgrading my SS ROM to a CM7 N84. I having a few problems, though. When I ClockworkMod Recovery, and I try to mount USB storage, I get the error: "E: unable to write to ums lunfile" Could this be to do with be swapping to another SD card after the install? (I did format it to FAT32 and moved all of the data on it across) Would it be worth formatting the SD card and starting again?

I tried to reinstall ES file Explorer and MD5 file and ClockworkMod Recovery, but the hash tags don't match? should I scrub my phone down to stock, and start again? Cheers :P

firstly, title your thread better. then people will see it and think, i know the answer to that and click on it..... :P

secondly, dont quite get what your problem is.... explain better....

your saying you can't mount your sd in clockwork, but it works fine when the phone is booted (i.e you can use it with astro or playing music etc?)

nah don't 'scrub it down to stock' there is probs nothing wrong with the phone. you've tried the obvious like rebooting clockwork right?

You put the ROM zip file on your SD card whilst the phone is booted normally, and then choose "wipe data/factory reset" in clockwork, followed by "install zip from sd card" then "choose zip". Its really not that hard! :P

wait a minute.....

your not being a complete tool rite???

what are you trying to do? mount your sdcard while plugged into your computor via sdcard?

or trying to install a rom?

if not your trying to mount, (which is what i thought you wanted) then you are not following the guides!

as mushroom lord, says, you install roms by flashing the zip file under 'choose zip from sdcard' option.

but as your already on SS i guess your not being that stupid.... :P

Yes now I am confuzed! You must have rom'd before, (unless you tpt'd), what ARE you trying to do? :P

If you have an SD Card reader you could put the ROM file on there instead of mounting USB storage and then just flash.

Sorry people. I've installed the latest SS ROM, but I want to install a CM7 ROM, instead. The problem is, my phone is a Gen1, so I have tried to follow the instructions in this thread:

http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...r-easy-install/

But I seem to have made a pigs ear of it. I downloaded the file I thought I needed, and then unzipped the folder that was inside and placed it on my SD card. I then pressed the up volume button on the phone and nothing happened. Is it because I've installed another SD card AFTER I installed the SS ROM? (I think that's why I'm getting the "E: unable to write to ums lunfile" in ClockworkMod recovery)

Cheers X a million : )

You are holding the volume up and pressing the power button whilst the phone is switched off aren't you?

Mounting usb storage isn't the same as mounting the sd card.

Clockwork makes sd card available when you go to "install from sdcard" anyway, although you can't do this anyway unless you've already got it on gen2.

I have tried holding the volume up button on it's own and with the power button at the same time, but with no luck. TBF, I don't even know if I'm downloading the right file from that thread for my phone (What a dunce, eh?)

Is it just ignoring the button press and loading SS?

How about holding the menu + volume up and then pressing the power button, I found it tricky to do but read that it's worked for some people when volume and up hasn't.

Most of the time it just loads SS. Sometimes I boot into ClockworkMod recovery instead! Does anyone know which TPT files is the correct one to use with my phone? I've downloaded one called: "CM-7.0.3-Blade-TPT" and unzipped that and put it on my phone (just so I get the "image" folder) Would that work, OK?

Does it matter that I haven't got a SIM in the phone ATM?

EDIT: The "menu + volume up and then pressing the power button" way of doing things worked! Hoorah!

I'm now running N84

I fixed the USB problem, by the way. All I had to do was restart the phone.

What's the best apps for CM7? (Most useful - overclocking and battery ones would be a start I suppose......)

And how can you speed the boot up of the Blade, when running CM7?

Cheers : )

Overclocking is built into CM look into the CM sections of the the settings

Battery life I reccomend Juice defender

Make sure too install Blade WiFi fix

And I don't think you can speed boot up
