Hi to all,

I am new in Android and after some mistakes, I was able to run CM7.03 stable on my fresh new genI Zte Blade from UK... I wiped data and the rest, flashed the firmware in recovery mode and I converted to gen II before and after flashing...

now it seems good and I am happy about this and your great job to make this!!

I am reading around about a radio working in Blade and gingerbread, I have read some topics but quite old and some new, not sure that now this issue is fixed... can you tell me something? I would like to run a FM radio in my mobile, using built-in radio FM, not the wifi ...

Thanks in advance

Nope not yet, don't think you needed a poll for this. If you need the radio then you need to use a Froyo rom atm.

Hopefully at some point but I'd rather they ironed out the creases of cm7 first.

Why not a poll?!? :P

I do not understand last sentence very well, do you mean about fixing some problems in cm7 first? Which problems do you feel in in your blade with cm7?

We don't need a poll because we all realize that FM Radio is broken with CM7 and it isn't rather high on the list of repairs, with the proximity sensor issues and the battery drain and the auto brightness issues and the gps restarts, it makes the phone hard to use for some people. Frankly we all want a phone before a music player.

Although I do have a question for you guys, thought this would be a fitting place rather than making a new topic, can I make a pair of existing headphones FM radio ready. You know like the standard blade headphones have the radio reciever, can I add that too an existing pair of headphones

I experienced the battery drain issue just today that I used animated desktop ^^

I don't think you need to do anything special to ready the headphones for FM radio. The receiver simply needs a length of conductive material to act as an aerial, so it uses the headphone lead for that purpose. Provided your firmware supports the FM radio and you have an appropriate app you can use it with any normal stereo headset or even a jack connected to the audio line-in of a Hi-fi or the sound card of a computer.

I do not understand very well about 4 persons answering YES to my question ... How they use a radio on a cyanogen mod 7.0.3? (read post #2 and #4)

What should I install?

Actually what is the best ROM for a gen I unlocked ZTE Blade?

Its not possible at this time, if you want to use the radio install one of the Froyo ROMs.

The best ROM is up to your personal preference, but most newer ones are Gen II. Upgrade process isn't that hard with the TPT method. Try some out, and stick with the one that suits you best.

I agree with you, I actually know that you cannot use FM radio on gingerbread... Maybe Tony as not read that I have cm7 or he has never tried to use FM radio and the same for people answering YES to the poll?

Actually I have switched to genII with the universal converter found here, that's the reason why I am running cm 703 on a Blade sold as gen I...
