Hey Guys,

Just bought a new phone I thought the misses would like my san fran so I put her sim in and it seemed to be connected fine but could only do data (couldn't make calls or send texts). I tried re-adding the APN which made it worse getting no signal, I also changed ROMs to JS and CM7 still with no change.

She's on Orange and I was using T-mobile, has anyone else expierenced this issue?

Also it's not new(got it around Sept)

Cheers

Have you made sure that both 2G and 3G are turned on?

I'm on orange in Newcastle and i can't get any 2G or 3G connection this evening. Guessing the problem is at their end because i havent done anything.

Tried Automatic and manually choose it orange as well, signal in the area was fine as it worked on another phone.

Update:

Seems it can't register to the orange network, when I add a t-mobile apn it can connect via 3G but can't connect to orange at all.

Any idea's?

An additional update, talked to orange and ir turns out the phone is blacklisted! If this is true I shall take it down to the shop tomorrow, do you think I'll have any trouble being nearly a year old and rooted?

I would reset it to stock if I were you!

Any clue as to why they would have blacklisted it?

Cause if they are stalking you cause of custom ROM's... we are all doomed :P

Unsure, I never used the sim it came with(lost it) so maybe it's tied to that. I should be near a shop tommorow so I shall report back with my findings.

Turns out it was not registered on the Orange network, don't know why it took a few CS people to drop my call and misdiagnose but it's finally sorted thanks to one really helpful CS lady.

Now to unroot again :P.
